General Surgery
The Department of General Surgery at Omandurar Government Medical College and Hospital was established in 2018 with four faculty members and basic amenities. Initially, the department had limited capacity, catering to around 30 outpatients daily. Over time, through consistent growth and development, the department has expanded significantly. Today, it is supported by 26 highly skilled and dedicated surgical faculty members, with the capacity to serve 250 outpatients and 180 inpatients daily.
The department is also a hub for medical education, training 150 undergraduate students and six postgraduate residents annually. On a daily basis, the team performs approximately 9 to 10 major surgeries and provides emergency care, handling a wide spectrum of complex and diverse cases with expertise.
